Delay and Disruption Expert Evidence in International Construction Arbitration

The Training Centre, in cooperation with White & Case Kazakhstan LLP and Ankura Consulting Group LLC, is delighted to invite participants to attend an in-person training session on “Delay and Disruption Expert Evidence in International Construction Arbitration”.

The training will be given by Mr. Pavel Boulatov, Counsel at White & Case Kazakhstan LLP in Astana, and Ms. Zhanna Temirbayeva, Managing Director at Ankura Consulting Group LLC in Dubai.

This training follows last year’s master class on “Expert Evidence in International Arbitration”. This year, trainers will focus on one of the most important types of expert evidence in construction arbitration – delay and disruption analysis. The seminar will provide practical insights into the methods for identifying and proving delay and disruption, as well as the roles of arbitration participants in preparing and successfully defending expert reports. The programme is designed in accordance with recognised approaches reflected in the SCL Delay and Disruption Protocol and AACE International Recommended Practice No. 29R-03 Forensic Schedule Analysis.

The seminar is intended for litigation and arbitration lawyers, construction law specialists, construction managers and project leaders, as well as construction and other industry experts.

About speakers:

  • Mr. Pavel Boulatov, Counsel at White & Case Kazakhstan LLP in Astana, specialises in international arbitration, litigation, and cross-border insolvency proceedings. He has experience in international commercial and investment arbitrations involving CIS countries and is listed as an arbitrator at the lAC (AIFC), HKIAC, the Arbitration Court of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and the Arbitration Center at the Institute of Modern Arbitration.
  • Ms. Zhanna Temirbayeva, Managing Director at Ankura in Dubai, specialises in the resolution and avoidance of construction disputes, commercial management, and contract administration. She acts as a testifying expert on quantum matters for complex international projects and has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, including infrastructure, energy, oil and gas, marine, and civil projects across the UK, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Australia, Kazakhstan, and other CIS countries.
