AIFC Court & IAC Participated in Conference by Constitutional Court of Kazakhstan

The AIFC Court and IAC participated at the international conference ‘Constitution and Statehood: Dialogue Between Law and the Future’ organised by the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

At the ‘Law and Order as The Foundation of Peace: Respect for Human Rights and State Stability’ session moderated by Mr. Bakyt Nurmukhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Ms. Sarangoo Radnaaragchaa, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Kazakhstan, Mr. Christopher Campbell-Holt OBE, Registrar and Chief Executive of the AIFC Court and IAC, spoke about rule of law and enforcement of justice in the Eurasia region and beyond.

Mr. Campbell-Holt OBE highlighted the importance of the international legitimacy of States from a global legal perspective. He emphasised that strengthening legitimacy requires adherence to international law and respect for universally recognised human rights standards.

The AIFC Court and IAC are independent of the national courts of the Republic of Kazakhstan but cooperate closely on matters of mutual interest, including on enforcement of AIFC Court judgments in foreign countries, and the continual improvement of the administration of justice and the rule of law in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The AIFC Court and IAC support the Republic of Kazakhstan and other countries in the Eurasia region as dispute resolution ‘Centres of Excellence,’ applying and promoting the highest international standards of independence and impartiality in accordance with the rule of law.
